If you and your date find yourselves wandering around Oxford Street, sightseeing near Carnaby Street, or enjoying a delightful treat at the Elan Cafe in Selfridges, I have a great recommendation for you. Take 1.5 hours out of your day to explore the fascinating Twist Museum, conveniently located on Oxford Street.
This quirky and thought-provoking museum plays tricks on your mind with endless illusions, making it a sensory experience like no other. The Twist Museum is composed of a series of interconnected zones dedicated to the exploration of perception. Through a delightful mix of science and art, the museum encourages visitors to contemplate how we all see the world differently. The letters TWIST stand for “The Way I See Things,” a phrase that’s the heartbeat of everything at the museum.

Why You’ll Love It
If you’re into photography, you’ll be thrilled to capture some mind-bending shots together. Take photos with your date amidst kaleidoscope-inspired illusions, step inside a room where one of you appears as small as a little bear and the other as big as daddy bear, or sit on a chair that makes you look as tiny as a toddler. It’s a fun and magical experience that will leave you both in awe.
Even if you’re not a huge lover of art, this museum might just surprise you. The mind-altering immersive rooms, unexpected interactive illusions, and intriguing insights into how our brains interpret reality will captivate your imagination. It’s a date idea in London that stands out from the usual, and I give it a solid 8/10.
So, next time you’re on Oxford Street, spice up your date with a visit to the Twist Museum – it’s an experience you won’t forget!
Our Experience at the Twist Museum
I visited the museum with one of my closest friends, and it’s an afternoon I won’t soon forget. If we weren’t rotating our heads in wonder, we were embracing our inner child or almost falling over in the yellow and red wonky mirrored room, featured in the photos below. The interactive nature of the exhibits kept us entertained and constantly amazed at how our perceptions were being challenged.
